It used to be that you could get a vehicle certified to be on the road in the UK if it had 3 original features. Unfortunately anti-motorist legislation now means that modified vintage cars need to be put though a time consuming and costly special test. Something like 50 things all have to be within specification – including things like how far out the door handles can protrude and the height that the lights have to be.

Classic cars are about much more than just transport. They kind of have to be a hobby for the dedicated., just keeping them running is a challenge in itself – let alone restoring them to their former glory or customizing them. But it is a labour of love and totally worth the time and effort for those that are dedicated.
